She was Minister of Justice from 2005 to 2012 and has served as Minister of Home Affairs since 2012. ==Early life, education, and exile== Iivula-Ithana was born in Uukwandongo, Omusati Region.〔〔(Profile at Namibian Parliament website ).〕 In 1974 she went into exile and became one of the first woman fighters in the People's Liberation Army of Namibia (PLAN).
